"Micro Beads"
These incredibly tiny seed beads are around 100 years old!
These are size 18/o, which have not been made since before WW I; they are probably considerably older. These are tiny enough to nearly drop through the HOLE of most seed beads on the market today! There is a LOT of controversy over the correct era for such little beads, although most everyone seems to agree they definitely were manufactured during 1880-1910. Many authorities assert they were available - although probably uncommon - for many decades prior to that time. Whatever the appropriate time slot, they are wonderful!
These beads originally came to us in hanks of very approx. 2 to 4 grams each...which isn't much by weight, but sure accounts for a LOT of individual beads! (There are approximately 40 18/o beads per linear inch.) The fragile string hanks don't always survive handling. Therefore, some colors are available only in broken hanks, which we've corralled in tiny plastic bags. Quantities range between 2 and 4 grams, (usually about 3) comparable to the amount found in hanks.

Approximate
size of hank or package is indicated next to each color. Quantities
are limited. All are size 18/o unless otherwise noted. Color
variations in hand-made glass from batch to batch will almost never
be the same, and colors will appear different due to different
settings and different brand monitors as well as the training of the
individual eye. Please order enough to complete your project at one
time, as we may not be able to duplicate an exact color.
